How can publishers exploit their content to the full? Book now
for this one day ALPSP seminar

Chair: Philip Shaw, Hodder Education

Julie Carroll Davis, ProQuest
Caroline Gomm, HarperCollins
Adele Parker, Taylor & Francis
Huw Alexander, SAGE
Duncan Enright, Royal Pharmaceutical Society

This seminar will cover key aspects of secondary rights for small
to medium sized publishers who are looking to exploit fully the
content they publish, whether their own books and journals or
those published under licence. It will be relevant to those
publishing for academic, research and professional markets, books
and journals.

The speakers will review the most important sources of rights
income and the various issues which the publisher should consider
before deciding to offer rights to third parties. These include
copyright considerations, brand visibility, and future own-brand
online offerings amongst others.

Who should attend: The day is aimed at those with direct
responsibility for rights management within Books and Journals
publishers, and Managing Editors and Commissioning staff in
publishing houses who are required to propose and justify
publications on the basis of their financial performance, which
increasingly will take into account revenue streams other than
direct and trade sales. It will also be of interest to those in
organizations who want to hear more about the realities of rights
sales in a market where third parties want to reuse rather than
simple reproduce content (incl delivery mechanisms).
