What, no detectives on this list? Searching Google for the forums named in the article retrieves two records: the article reporting on the site, and the site itself. The site was www.smso.net. It is not cached in Google. When attempting to connect, you are redirected to another site called x240.com. You can view older versions of the site from the WayBack Machine at http://web.archive.org/web/*/smso.net A scrolling message tells you what smso stands for: http://web.archive.org/web/20070209051008/www.smso.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5510 Miscellaneous things I found: Registrant of smso.net - http://whois.domaintools.com/smso.net Registrant of x240.com - http://whois.domaintools.com/x240.com Wikipedia actions against smso.net for not crediting Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Mirrors_and_forks/Stu --> (scroll down to SMSO.net) Other sites like smso.net - http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090221094612AAOsFk7 http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090215002438AAkZAtp I doubt very much that the data were made up.
