Without knowing the specifics, the requirement for 2 subscriptions might be because you have 2 separate and distinct campuses. In that case, one subscription may not allow access by two campuses. If you have a single campus, then I don't understand the requirement to maintain two subscriptions. Is there an underlying agreement to maintain two copies? Is there a cancellation notice requirement? We have moved many of our print titles to online and I have not seen this problem. Curious. We have duplicate copies for a few titles. I informed the publishers that I would like to cancel one copy (or subscribe to a different title of the same value), and switch the second one to online. I was surprised by their reply that we need to switch both copies to online. Can somebody explain to me how a library can justify paying 2 times for the same title? And how, technically, we can use the two online copies of the same title??
