Re: EDP Sciences (French publisher)

I do all the licensing for George Mason University in Virginia. We wanted
to have electronic access to Astronomy and Astrophysics for which we have
a print subscription. After nine months of mostly receiving no responses
to my emails, we were finally able to sign their license agreement. We
made only one change as we are required to add the sentence "Nothing
herein shall be deemed a waiver of the sovereign immunity of the
Commonwealth of Virginia" to all of our licenses. At first we were told
that they would make no changes, but after I contacted a different person,
the company accepted this one change and we signed the license. I found
that we were able to accept the rest of the license as is.

Hope this is helpful.

Best regards and good luck with your negotiations.
