We would like to draw your attention to HARRASSOWITZ's e-journal subscription services, which include keeping a record of your FTE counts, IP address ranges, institutional contacts, and provider ID's (e.g. Ingenta ID). When you ask HARRASSOWITZ to manage your e-journal subscriptions, all this information will automatically be forwarded to the publishers, simplifying the transactions, and minimizing the amount of effort required from library staff. Eliminating the X-large category and linking the online and print/online subscription to each individual journal print price will result in a reduction of the online subscription rate for the majority of journals, especially for large institutions. Group 1 and 2 price bands will disappear. Instead, all online subscriptions are based on the individual journal price. For institutions selecting a print/online subscription, the print journal is priced as a minimal add-on. Print-only subscriptions do not include full text online access. 2004 prices for BMJ Journals and Clinical Evidence are now available on the BMJ Journals Library Resource Centre at http://www.bmjjournals.com/subscriptions/libraries.shtml BMJ has also announced that access to bmj.com will remain free to all throughout 2004. However, in 2005, after ten years of being freely accessible, bmj.com will introduce a limited charging structure for some of its content. 2005 will also see the introduction of COUNTER-compliant usage statistics along with offsite licenses similar to those for the BMJ Journals. For more information please read the editorial in the 2nd August issue of BMJ at http://bmj.com/cgi/content/full/327/7409/241 . ------------- 72.4 New options for Royal Society of Medicine journals The Journal of Medical Screening is now published by RSM Press. Previously published by the BMJ Publishing Group, the JMS is concerned with all aspects of medical screening, particularly the publication of research that advances screening theory and practice. From 2004, Standard and Online-only subscribers can access all issues published since March 1998 on the Internet at no extra cost. Please note that Ingenta now hosts all online back files (HighWire Press no longer hosts any JMS online material). ALL subscribers must therefore register or re-register at http://www.jmedscreen.com RSM has announced the following subscription options for 2004: Beginning in 2004, the Royal Society of Medicine will offer an online-only version of those journals that are available online. The price for online-only access will be approximately 90% of the Standard subscription price for print plus online. A print-only rate is only available for selected titles which are not yet available online. Subscriptions include access to all online backfiles and TOC alerting services. The 2004 pricelist is available at http://www.rsmpress.co.uk/04subrates.pdf Please advise HARRASSOWITZ as soon as possible if you want to change any of your current Standard subscriptions to online-only, so that your 2004 renewal invoices will be accurate.
