This message is especially for publishers who participate in this list, but of interest to many. Please help us to populate the site below with information that will be of use to library customers. This is somewhat of an experiment still, so to all readers, your comments are welcome. Please direct them to Joan Emmet of Yale/NERL <joan.emmet@yale.edu> or Notre Dame's Project Chair Patricia Ann Loghry <Patricia.A.Loghry.1@nd.edu> ___ ILL "space" is operational - Terms & Conditions A group of librarians from across the country has been working to find a way to share information about publisher and vendor policies for using content from electronic full-text publications to fulfill interlibrary loan (ILL) requests. The web site we developed is now available and ready for publishers/vendors to input their license standards information regarding interlibrary loan into this web accessible database. More Information: We have created an ILL Terms and Provisions Web site to which librarians may go to find answers to questions such as: May electronic publications from a particular publisher/vendor be used to fulfill interlibrary loan requests? or Are there any limitations placed on how libraries can fulfill ILL requests using this publication, and if so, what are they? In addition to helping libraries make interlibrary loan decisions, this site will also help libraries make decisions about subscribing to electronic journals and other e-resources by using publishers' ILL policy as part of the decision-making criteria. We will publicize this new site widely, on this list and various other librarians' discussion lists. First, though, we need to gather information from publishers about their standard licensing terms and provisions regarding the use of electronic publications for interlibrary loan, and this is where we require the help of publishers. The web site is located at: http://www.library.yale.edu/~llicense/ILLproject.html. When you go into the site you will find the "Vendor Login to Data Entry of License Provisions for InterLibrary Loan" screen. You will see boxes requesting the id and password. If you are submitting data for the first time, click on the link "if you have not yet registered please click here". After submitting this form a temporary password will be e-mailed to the address you provided. The web site requires an ID to protect the integrity of the data that the publisher submits and may only be changed by the publishers representative. With the ID and password, you will find a vendor registration form to fill in. Publishers may update their record anytime there are changes in policy. We would like to take this opportunity to especially thank Ann Okerson, Joan Emmet, Yale Library's ITS staff (especially George Oulette) and Yale University for all their help and support with this project. We are excited about this opportunity for publishers and librarians to develop a web based resource to find publishers' standards in licenses for interlibrary loan. We invite publishers to submit their information and thank all participants very much for supporting this project.
