This message is being posted to both liblicense-l and consort. Dear colleagues- Our consortium (universities only) has been approached by the local chemical society regarding the possibility of cooperation in supplying chemical information to their entire membership (particularly chemists in industry - those in the universities are already covered in the existing framework) Has anyone done or considered this kind of academia+industry cooperation? If so - are the industries (industry libraries?) part of the consortium, outside affiliates or some other status? How are financial arrangements and license/contracts organized: both between consortium and industry and between consortium and vendor. Are there known vendors who allow or encourage this kind of consortium arrangement? Any known vendors who specifically do *not* allow this kind of arrangement? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
