I was very interested in Richard Gedye's comments on the access to the OUP journals on-line. I find it a trifle odd that he made no mention of the "Institutional Site Licence Agree- ment" which seems to be part and parcel of the registration process for the OUP journals. This agreement instantly be- comes a major stumbling block for libraries which find themselves prohibited from entering into such an agree- ment without institutional vetting and approval. Which is where I find myself at this very moment! Alas, he makes it sound so simple. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :Connie Kelley, Contracts Manager: : University of Virginia Library : : Charlottesville VA 22903-2498 : : . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : >Richard Gedye wrote: >Date: Wed, 12 Aug 1998 11:15:35 +0100 >From: Richard Gedye <CHICKL@oup.co.uk> >To: liblicense-l@lists.yale.edu >Subject: Oxford and Cambridge UP.. - Reply > >I can't, of course, claim to speak for CUP, but institutional subscriber >access to the full text of Oxford University Press online journals is via >registered IP address, not via password. > >However, if as an institutional subscriber you choose to register your >relevant IP addresses via our online form (which we would strongly >encourage), you will need to choose a password for yourself which will >give you access to the registration form.
