Re: Perpetual Access 

     Sallie Becker asked if there were agreements that permitted the library 
     to retain the electronic information if the subscription is not renewed.
     
     The BIOSIS policy states that when a customer purchases the CD ROM or 
     any other electronic form of our products, they own the right to use the 
     data forever. If a customer chooses NOT to renew their subscription, 
     they may still continue to use the data.
     
     If the institution continues to use the electronic data via a LAN or 
     over any other networked solution, they are required to pay BIOSIS the  
     annual LAN charge. This applies for as long as the files are networked. 
     
     This policy applies specifically to electronic formats purchased 
     directly from BIOSIS.
