With the software advances that allow journals to be easily published over the internet, it becomes more difficult to determine the level of scholarship that the journals are publishing. Some publishers have been exposed at seeming to be more interested in author fees than in the articles their journals publish. When a publisher announces a large number of new titles, how does one evaluate the quality of all these journals? Two such publishers have recently come to my attention: Scientific Research Publishing (and a seemingly related Chinese content publisher Hans Publishers), based in the United States and Wilolud Journals based in Nigeria. Does anyone have experience or opinions on these publishers or any other publishers announcing many new titles? Thanks! Kurt Beske NewJour Project Coordinator Georgetown University
