The only place I could find Mary Monroe's excellent work was on the wayback machine: try. http://replay.waybackmachine.org/20070806141555/http://www.niulib.niu.edu/publishers/ It is entitled: The Academic Publishing Industry: A Story of Merger and Acquisition and was last crawled by the Wayback machine in August of 2007 Chuck Hamaker -----Original Message----- From: owner-liblicense-l@lists.yale.edu on behalf of Greg Grossmeier Sent: Mon 3/14/2011 10:03 PM To: liblicense-l@lists.yale.edu Subject: Publisher Genealogy Hello fine members of the liblicense list. I feel like I remember a discussion on this list, or at least one message, that included a link to a resource documenting the genealogy or acquisition history of the major academic publishers. Unfortunately, my searches of my personal email archive and the web archive have not turned up anything useful. Does anyone remember this resource, or am I making up this fantasy? Baring finding this magical resource, I suppose one could begin this project by going through a time-line of acquisitions per publisher. All the best, Greg
