Significant news today, the 16th, concerning new legislation in France. And concerning the immediate (rather concerned) professional reactions. As reported by _Le monde_: http://www.lemonde.fr/technologies/article/2011/02/16/livre-numerique-adoption-a-l-assemblee-du-texte-sur-le-prix-unique_1480788_651865.html or, late last evening, by _France Soir_: http://www.francesoir.fr/actu/livre-numerique-adoption-du-texte-sur-prix-unique-inquietude-dans-profession-73663.html And for anyone who wants to go more deeply into the substance, he or she can look to the Assemblee nationale itself, at: http://www.assemblee-nationale.fr/13/cri/2010-2011/20110121.asp There'll be a good bit of commentary appearing in the next few days, I imagine. - Laval Hunsucker Antwerpen [Moderator's note: The legislation allows publishers to forbid discounting of the price of e-books in France.]
