* Announcement (cross-posted) * I just mailed the February issue of the SPARC Open Access Newsletter. This issue takes a close look at the new libre OA mandate from the US Departments of Labor and Education. Another piece asks for reader help in coming up with a short, sweet term for author-side openness, for example, the openness of wikis to user edits. The roundup section briefly notes 144 OA developments from January, and a new section offers a few excerpts from SOAN five years ago this month.
