Communique CRKN Directs Open Letter to Chronicle of Higher Education to Address Misinformation July 12, 2010, Ottawa, ON - The Chronicle of Higher Education carried an article -- http://chronicle.com/article/Canadian-University-Hopes-t/66095/ -- on July 4, 2010 regarding the University of Prince Edward Island Library having discontinued its subscription to the Thomson Reuters Web of Science product. The article contained serious inaccuracies and was silent on other important details, with the result that damaging allegations regarding Thomson Reuters were reported. As the subscription in question was a national license held by the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) on behalf of its member universities, CRKN has released an Open Letter to the Chronicle of Higher Education to clarify the situation and to call upon the Chronicle to address the misinformation circulated through its article.
