Some more information from Ulrichs. Sally Morris Consultant, Morris Associates (Publishing Consultancy) Email: sally@morris-assocs.demon.co.uk _____ From: Chen, Shawn [mailto:Shawn.Chen@serialssolutions.com] Sent: 18 November 2008 13:59 To: Sally Morris (Morris Associates) Subject: RE: Query about 'active' status in Ulrichs database Dear Ms. Morris, The "Active" Status indicates a serials publication was active and available last time it was checked. Our update schedule varies based on the cooperation of the publisher. Most large publishers provide us with annual updates. The other titles are manually researched and updated by our team of linguistic editors and consultants. Some titles are not updated as frequently because either the publisher does not respond to us or there's just no information available. If you subscribe to Ulrichsweb, you see there's an entire set of journals with the status "Researched." It indicates we were unable to find information on the titles after several tries. Once in awhile we will go back and try again. There are 277 refereed titles with Research status in Ulrich's from over 330,000 titles. I do not have information on when the Researched status is assigned for each title. I hope this answers your question.
