Institutional Repository Coordinator The Houston Academy of Medicine - Texas Medical Center (HAM-TMC) Library seeks an innovative and energetic Institutional Repository Coordinator. This individual will be responsible for managing the Library's institutional repository, DigitalCommons at The Texas Medical Center, developing and implementing marketing / promotion efforts, generating long-term and strategic planning and providing support for scholarly communication activities and tools. This position reports to the Associate Director for Collections Management and will be an integral member of a work team that guarantees the effective delivery of print and electronic information to the scholars, students, and researchers that make up the diverse community in the Texas Medical Center. Responsibilities and Duties: * Oversees day-to-day management of the institutional repository, including adding new content and editing existing content * Supports established institutional repository guidelines, including submission rules and the development of new communities, and create new guidelines as required * Develops procedures and analyze policies to ensure consistency and accuracy of the information in the institutional repository * Creates and implements a comprehensive marketing strategy * Develops both the long-term and strategic tactical plan * Responsible for the Library's scholarly communication activities, including providing workshops and instruction Qualifications: A graduate degree in Library or Information Science from a program accredited by the American Library Association and three or more years of library experience. Skills: * Prime knowledge of copyright issues as they relate to scholarly communication * Demonstrated initiative and a firm commitment to public service * Superior knowledge about scholarly communication issues and strong interest in pursuing the development of alternative publishing venues for faculty and students * Great analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication skills, including effective presentation and promotional abilities * First-rate technical writing and documentation expertise * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision The HAM-TMC Library offers a complete benefits package which includes health, dental, life and long-term disability insurance.
