*Please excuse cross-posting* SCELC, the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium, invites applications for the position of Assistant Director. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with our growing consortium of private academic and nonprofit research institution libraries in California in the area of consortial electronic resource licensing. Working under the direction of the Executive Director, the Assistant Director manages the daily internal operations of the Consortium, working with vendors to help negotiate electronic resource offers, developing cost sharing models for the libraries, and supervising other SCELC staff. The Assistant Director oversees ongoing development of the SCELC WISDOM system for management of member, vendor, order and invoice data. In addition, the Assistant Director provides organizational support for SCELC events, such as the SCELC Colloquium and SCELC Vendor Day. This position requires an MLIS degree or, alternatively, an MBA, with a strong familiarity with library consortia, libraries and licensing. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
