World Scientific Publishing Company and Indian Institute of 
Science announce publishing collaboration

World Scientific Publishing Company (WSPC), Singapore, and Indian 
Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, have agreed to co-publish 
a series of textbooks and monographs by prominent scientists and 
authors from IISc and other international scientific and 
educational institutions. The first in the series is expected to 
be a book by leading scientist Professor CNR Rao on "Trends in 
Chemistry of Materials".  This pioneering collaboration will 
contribute significantly in disseminating current Indian 
scientific advancement worldwide.  In addition, the collaboration 
also proposes to bring to India the best scientific ideas and 
thoughts across the world in select priority areas to India 
through specially designed India editions.

Monographs will include latest advancements in fields like 
nanotechnology, superconductivity, modern applications of 
automata theory, game theory, etc. Textbooks/lecture notes for 
undergraduate and postgraduate courses will be also published in 
all major engineering disciplines.

WSPC is delighted with this partnership and is honoured to be
associated with the prestigious IISc, especially during the
Institute's Centenary Year. Lectures by designated Centenary
Professors - eminent scientists and science teachers from all
over the world - will be published in appropriate formats.

This partnership was officially signed by Mr Max Phua, Executive 
Director of WSPC, and Professor P Balaram, Director of IISc.
