**For Immediate Release** MARC Records Options for the Springer eBook Collection Springer now offers library administrators the flexibility of multiple options for eBook MARC Records. Springer offers two options. Option 1 - Springer MARC Records Springer offers eBook customers 'Springer MARC Records' for no charge. These records are generated using Springer metadata and contain the most common fields needed for libraries to load eBooks into the OPAC environment. These batch-loadable files have been designed and tested by actual eBook customers, and are under continuous review by Springer's MARC Customer Board. Springer MARC Records for copyright years 2005, 2006, and 2007 are currently available for download at springer.com/marc. Option 2 - OCLC MARC Records for the Springer eBook Collection Alternatively, those institutions that require a more enhanced version of MARC records may obtain OCLC MARC Records if they subscribe to OCLC. MARC records for Springer eBook collections will be available through OCLC's WorldCat Collection Sets service. Libraries also have the option of downloading the records themselves from WorldCat using lists of OCLC control numbers provided by Springer and the batch processing capabilities of the OCLC Connexion client cataloging software. Production of OCLC MARC Records will be completed at the end of the 2007 calendar year for books with copyright year 2007. Following delivery of this year's MARC Records, priority will be given to current MARC Records, those of 2008, and followed by the 2005, and 2006 back years.
