SSP Annual Meeting - June 6-8, 2007 Librarians and students are invited to register for the SSP Annual Meeting. SSP is the Society for Scholarly Publishing and librarian viewpoints and input are welcomed. Librarians enjoy a deep discount, almost half the SSP member rate ($250 instead of $495). Save $50 by registering by May 11. The SSP 29th Annual Meeting will be held June 6-8, at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco. This year's program "Imagining the Future: Scholarly Communication 2.0," promises to be an exciting and thought-provoking event. Is "Web 2.0" just a buzzword, or are there real opportunities for scholarly publishing lying beneath the hype? Come to San Francisco and find out how evolving Internet strategies and technologies can empower you and your organization! Featured speakers are Larry Sanger (Wikipedia/Citizendium), Paul Duguid (UC Berkeley), David Worlock (Outsell, Inc.) and Brewster Kahle (Internet Archive). Don't miss: * premeeting seminars (June 6) on hot topics: copyright in the digital world, content licensing, business usage data, and society publishing * 15 practical and cutting-edge program sessions for librarians, publishers, editors, scholars, printers, agents, wholesalers, booksellers, and other participants * nationally recognized experts in many aspects of scholarly communication: technology, digital content, institutional repositories, interfaces, and more. * Exhibitors' Marketplace and receptions * formal and informal networking opportunities The PDF of the program brochure, registration, and hotel details are available now at http://www.sspnet.org. The first hotel is sold out, so don't miss the new hotel discount through May 4. The mission of SSP is to advance scholarly publishing and communication and the professional development of its members through education, collaboration, and networking among individuals in the field.
