Hindawi publishes 12 other mathematics journals apart from these 4 that were transfered to OUP. In addition, Hindawi publishes many engineering journals that have considerable mathematical content. So, my statement last week that our journals contain complex typeset material and not plain text only is correct, whether you consider it before or after the sale of these 4 journals to OUP.

Oxford Journals to publish four new mathematics titles in 2007

5 February 2007

Oxford Journals have today announced the purchase of four
mathematics journals from Hindawi Publishing Corporation:
International Mathematics Research Notices
International Mathematics Research Papers
Applied Mathematics Research Express
International Mathematics Research Surveys

The titles immediately join the Oxford Journals mathematics list, which
has seen significant growth in the last year. The list includes some of
the world's most highly read titles across a broad range of mathematical
disciplines, including prestigious titles in pure and applied
mathematics, as well as statistics and related disciplines.

Together, the four titles cover articles of high current interest in all
areas of mathematics. All are fully peer-reviewed, and will be offering
rapid publication online. International Mathematics Research Notices
(IMRN), the lead title of the four, is currently in its 17th year of
publication, publishing around 4500 pages a year.

Catherine Morgan, Editor, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, Oxford
Journals, commented: "We're delighted to be able to offer our customers
access to these important titles.

"The new publishing arrangement will result in several key developments,
including a new and cohesive online platform for the journals,
availability of articles in html as well as pdf format, and greater
accessibility to journal content. Importantly however, we will be
continuing to ensure rapid editorial and publication processes, and are
working to ensure a seamless transition from Hindawi to Oxford Journals
for all customers".

Dr Morris Weisfeld of Duke University, Editor in Chief and Founding
Editor of the four journals, commented: "The purchase by Oxford
Journals, with its vast resources and experience, initiates a new era
for these journals: a golden one. IMRN is a mature journal and its
growth paces the overall growth in mathematics research papers. IMRP
dealing exclusively with long papers is growing rapidly. IMRS is just
starting up and needs a few years to be fully established. AMRX has the
greatest potential and mammoth growth is expected."

Subscriptions to the journals will remain at 2007 prices stated by
Hindawi. Access to the full archive of the IMRN dating back to 1991 will
be available online.
