This year at the American Library Association Midwinter meeting in Seattle, the National Information Standards Organization (NISO) will hold more informal and interactive meetings with two days of small discussion sessions to elicit the community's direct input on key issues. Join Todd Carpenter, NISO Managing Director, in a discussion of four main topics: (1) Membership expansion and recruitment, (2) Committee structure, (3) Technology and infrastructure, and (4) NISO's Education and publication programs. Attendees are encouraged to come with their own questions or ideas about NISO's programs for discussion. This is a genuine opportunity to participate in the strategic changes that NISO intends to make. Please attend and voice your priorities, concerns, and creative solutions. NISO has arranged eight opportunities for you to participate. The one and one-half hour sessions will occur on January 21 and 22 at the Summerfield Suites, the Ward Room on the 2nd floor, at: 8:30 - 10:00, 10:30 - 12:00, 2:00 - 3:30, and 4:00 - 5:30. Light refreshments will be provided. To RSVP, email to nisohq@niso.org or phone, 301-654-2512, indicating a preferred date and time. Please respond by January 18, 2007.
