Inside Hgher Education ran a story today about an open letter signed by 25 Provosts from around the country in support of FRPAA (Federal Research Publlic Access Act). The idea for this came out of the CIC (Committee on Insitutional Cooperation), was supported by CDL (California Digital Library), and then pushed out more broadly for signatures. The letter itself was very nicely drafted for the provosts by Maria Bonn of the University of Michigan's Scholarly Publishing Offie and John Ober of CDL's Office of Scholalry Communication.
