Beginning in the third quarter of 2006, these usage reports will provide librarians with a standardized record of access requests to the Chicago online catalog of journals. The Web usage reports have been designed to adhere to COUNTER Code of Practice (level I), and the University of Chicago Press will be working to become COUNTER compliant at level II in the months ahead. COUNTER - an international initiative of librarians, publishers, and societies - responds to the growing need for consistently measured and easily accessible usage reports for online content, such as the scholarly research presented on the University of Chicago Web site, www.journals.uchicago.edu <http://www.journals.uchicago.edu/> .
