SPARC-ACRL Forum at ALA Midwinter:
Authors and Authority: Perspectives on Negotiating Licenses and Copyright
Saturday, January 21, 2006, 4-6 pm
Location to be announced
A publisher, an attorney and a librarian will provide insights into the
ways that the traditional relationship between author and publisher is
changing: from individual author's addenda included with publishing
agreements to large-scale efforts from universities and organizations like
Creative Commons and Science Commons. This SPARC-ACRL Forum will outline a
path for the future that will better serve academe and the public.
Speakers include David Hoole, Head of Brand Marketing and Content
Licensing, Nature Publishing Group; Mike Carroll, Associate Professor of
Law, Villanova University School of Law and Board Member of Creative
Commons; and John Ober, Director, Education and Strategy, California
Digital Library.
Please join us for this event. Reservations are not required.
