OA needs its own list

I joined this list because my job involves licensing electronic resources.
But postings actually related to this topic seem to be few and far
between. I'll admit that I haven't contributed much myself, remaining a
lurker most of the time.

I welcome the newly revised (and broadened) set of guidelines for the
list.

Nevertheless, while I am not entirely disinterested in OA, the ongoing
multiple posts on this topic which have frequently seemed to dominate the
Liblicense-L list during the time I've been subscribed (since June, 2004)
are almost enough to drive one off the list. Especially since many of them
seem to involve lengthy--and for the relatively disinterested--fairly
convoluted arguments of arcane points not relevant to anyone but these
true believers.

I'm not the moderator (thankfully!) but, I would respectfully suggest that
those of you so fervently interested in arguing various OA philosophies
should start your own OA list and take your discussion there. The volume
of postings on this topic alone would seem to suggest a justification for
a list devoted solely to that topic. This would allow those of us whose
interest remains more narrowly focused on licensing, the original list
purpose, to settle back to a much lower volume list, and lighten the load
on our over-exercised delete keys.
