DISCUS PROJECT DIRECTOR (Library Manager II), South Carolina State Library
Under the supervision of the Director of Statewide Library Services, plans
and guides all operations of the DISCUS Program <http://www.scdiscus.org>.
Consults and guides SC Libraries on DISCUS program participation and use
of DISCUS subscription databases. Establishes DISCUS user profiles and
provides other technical assistance. Coordinates subscription vendor
relationships and is the principal contractual negotiator, develops and
monitors DISCUS budgetary activities (e.g., allocation of funds for
subscription databases and related expenditures). Serves as the 'ex
officio' representative to statewide library subscription database group
purchasing/licensing committees. Develops and implements DISCUS marketing
activities (exhibit staffing, making presentations at conferences, etc.)
Develops DISCUS training schedules/activities. Supervises FTE Training
librarian and part-time administrative assistant. Works in collaboration
with IT Director, PR Coordinator, Finance Director, and CE Coordinator.
