Re: Open Access and Impact



No doubt we all interpret such reports according to our own prejudices,
but my reaction to the ISI study is that the result is good for open
access, in that at this very early stage in the availability of open
access journals they are already up there with subscription journals in
citation counts. As Ann comments, "it's early days", and as use of open
access journals grows, citation levels should also rise. But I admit my
bias!
