Terms such as "Dewey Decimal System", "DDC", etc., are registered trademarks owned by OCLC. The Library Hotel uses these registered trademarks without indicating they are registered trademarks. See the following for an example: http://www.libraryhotel.com/concept.htm Bernie Sloan -----Original Message----- From: martin@skmassociates.net [mailto:martin@skmassociates.net] Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2003 6:03 PM To: liblicense-l@lists.yale.edu Which is it, copyright or trademark? And if it is trademark, could someone explain what there is about the DDC that makes it trademarkable rather than copyrightable or patentable? Sue Martin
