The agreement, announced today, will provide PALINET member libraries in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and neighboring states with consortial subscription opportunities for Classical Music Library, the world's first classical music listening service for libraries. PALINET members include such institutions as Carnegie Mellon University, Curtis Institute of Music and Princeton University. PALINET is a library services network serving more than 600 library-related organizations (such as libraries, information centers, museums, and archives) in states throughout the mid-Atlantic region. The Network was formed in 1936 to promote library cooperation, facilitate information access and foster resource sharing. Classical Music Library offers 12,000+ classical music recordings, enabling patrons to listen at library or remote computers.
