Publishers need to know who their users are, how they find and use information, and how they behave when faced with choices. Many research studies have been done to document how users behave; much can also be learned from the electronic logs of what users actually do. This seminar summarises in a practical way what we know about user behaviour and what publishers can do to learn more about their own users. Hard data on what users want and how they behave will allow publishers to make informed decisions on new products and services. This seminar will explain how to get it. Who should attend Publishers in marketing, market research, sales, and customer service who want to understand their customers' needs and preferences. Publishing management, editorial, and new business development staff who plan new products and services, and technical staff who design them. Marketing and technical staff who analyse usage statistics and user logfiles.
