Australian Court Ruling Could Extend Reach of Libel Law The Recorder Brenda Sandburg <mailto:bsandburg@therecorder.com> The Recorder <http://www.law.com/ca> 12-11-2002 (on law.com) In a precedent-setting case, Australia's highest court ruled Tuesday that publishers can be sued for defamation in whatever country an individual's reputation allegedly has been harmed.
