Here's some information on upcoming programs being offered by the
Education Law Institute of Franklin Pierce Law Center.

EDUCATION LAW INSTITUTE.  JULY 23-26, 2001.  FRANKLIN PIERCE LAW CENTER. 
CONCORD, NH

July 23, Leaving No One Behind.  Keynote on Discipline Goes to Court.  
Workshop topics run the gamut from reverse inclusion to ADHD to IDEA & 504
claims that push the limits.

July 24, Oh, What a Tangled Web:  Internet K-12 and Higher Ed.  Keynote on
Barriers to Entry.  Cutting-edge workshop topics for K-12 and higher ed
covering ownership issues and negotiation. Hands-on training rounds out
the day.

July 25, Testing the Future.  Two tracks major reform issues and "how-to"  
primer on dealing with the law.  Highlights include home schooling, high
cost of reform, vouchers and other workshops *. and the much-praised
role-play.

July 26, Continuing Education for Lawyers.  From special ed update to OCR
enforcement to issues surrounding copyright and licensing, this session is
jam-packed with info every lawyer should understand.  CLE hours estimated
at eight (using 50-minute hours).

October 7, Leaving No One Behind.  Keynote on Exposing and Closing the
Gap:  Assuring Minority Students are Not Left Behind.  Rod Paige, Greg
Malhoit, Dennis Parker. -- Workshop topics run the gamut from inclusionary
testing, special education and charters, and avoiding litigation.

October 8, Oh, What a Tangled Web:  Internet K-12 and Higher Ed.  Keynote 
on Civil & Cyber Liberties by ACLU lobbyist.  Workshops include Children's 
Internet Protection Act, Internet and the Fourth Amendment, can Internet 
offer alternative placement, and more.

October 9, Testing the Fture.  Keynote on Testing the Future:  Courts and
Schools.  Mike Rebell from New York's Campaign for Fiscal Equity --
Workshops include testing teachers, the high cost of reform, and free
speech primer, to name a few.

October 10, Post Conference of Gifted Education.  Learn about myths,
misconceptions, characteristics and needs of students; curriculum
differentiation strategies; and LRE programming.  Earn 5 clock hours of
training on this often-neglected subject.

October 10, Continuing Education for Lawyers.
