VIVA (the Virtual Library of Virginia) has always sought to maintain our right to use our subscriptions (paper or electronic) for ILL. We have a web site listing the ILL contract provisions for our current full text products. While this isn't a great deal of information, it does provide a beginning point for our member libraries and helps us communicate our responsibilities under each contract. http://www.gmu.edu/library/fen/viva/illcontr.html You will see that MOST of our VIVA products allow ILL, and many allow ILL from the electronic form without having to (ridiculously) print the article out first. c: VIVA ILL contacts Katherine A. Almost all publishers do now permit ILL use, at least by sending paper copies. However, the variety of the restrictions has made it difficult for ILL departments to keep track, and they therefore often refuse such requests automatically without checking the license. A convenient summary of publishers' customary provisions would be an immense help to all of us (recognizing that some individual contracts may be different.).
