7000 journals and the DOAJ site in Turkish!

**With apologies for cross-posting**
7000 journals and the DOAJ site in Turkish!

Directory of Open Access Journals is continuously growing - now
there are 7000 journals listed in the directory! 45% of the
journals are searchable on article level -- more than 600 000
articles searchable.

DOAJ is also aiming to make the site available in other languages
than English. Recently the French version of the DOAJ site was
launched and now we are happy to inform that the site is also
available in Turkish, thanks to the cooperation between Lund
University Libraries, Head Office and the consortium ANKOS, who
carried out the translation.

General information about the DOAJ service:

* Aggregating and disseminating scholarly Open Access journals since may 2003!

* Developing Open Access Journals by means of promoting open
re-use policies - the SPARC Europe SEAL
<http://www.doaj.org/doaj?func=loadTempl&templ=faq&uiLanguage=en#seal>!

* Working for long term archiving of Open Access Journals
<http://www.doaj.org/doaj?func=loadTempl&templ=longTermArchiving&uiLanguage=en>

<http://www.kb.nl/index-en.html> - project sponsored by the
Swedish Library Association
<http://www.biblioteksforeningen.org/>!

* Participating in the Europeana Libraries
(http://www.europeana-libraries.eu/project) project!

During the years DOAJ has been sponsored by Open Society
Institute <http://www.soros.org/>, SPARC
<http://www.arl.org/sparc/>, SPARC Europe
<http://www.sparceurope.org/>, EBSCO <http://www.ebscohost.com/>,
INASP <http://www.inasp.info/>, Axiell
<http://www.axiell.se/home>, National Library of Sweden
<http://www.kb.se/hjalp/english/> & Swedish Library Association
<http://www.biblioteksforeningen.org/>. The project is also
supported by the community via the DOAJ membership program
<http://www.doaj.org/doaj?func=membership&uiLanguage=en>. We are
very grateful for the contributions from our sponsors and for the
support from individuals, universities, research institutions,
library consortia and aggregators. The contributions have made it
possible for us to do the work that we are doing!

We though still need your support to do more than we already are
doing so if you, your university or your library consortium
doesn't have a DOAJ membership, please consider becoming a
member!
