Simon makes an excellent point.  The impact of Napster is that it 
brought the notion of information sharing to a whole new level - 
exchanging lots of content among lots of people suddenly became 
easy and commonplace.  Napster also demonstrated that the 
consequences of copyright breach were minimal for all but a few 
bad-luck cases prosecuted (some would say persecuted) as 
examples.  This reinforced the perception that Simon calls out, 
namely that information is not property.
