RE: Routledge and the Association of American Geographers Announce Partnership

Dear Mr Kaemper

The Blackwell Publishing 2007 prices you quote below are
applicable for North American subscribers only ($931 for print
and online subscriptions in Canada and Mexico). The Blackwell
Publishing Rest of World rate for 2007 is GBP 655. The 2008 ROW
pricing is therefore based on the Blackwell Publishing ROW price,
although we only price in GBP in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
The 2008 rate for North American subscribers is $966 for a print
and online subscription.

I know this still gives a higher than average price increase, but
the reason for this is that from 2008, subscribers will enjoy
access to an expanded backfile in our standard institutional
subscription with access to 54 volumes of content for The Annals
(compared to 10 at present) and the full archive for The
Professional Geographer so 60 volumes back to Volume 1, Number 1
(rather than 10 volumes at present).

I hope this answers your query, but please let me know if you
have any further questions.

Kind regards
Ashleigh

Dear Ms Bell, Ms. Vivian, and Dr. Richardson,

would you dare to comment on the downside of this new publishing
partnership, the near doubling in price (from USD 764 for the
Print + standard online subscription, or USD 840 for the Print +
premium online subs, or USD 726 for Premium online only at
Blackwell to USD 1468 for Print + Online or USD 1395 for online
only at T&F)?

Thank you very much in advance,
Bernd-Christoph Kaemper, Stuttgart University Library
