I am looking for an article -- or other resources -- that compares and contrasts different online electronic database pricing methodologies (e.g., per article/chapter fee? per line/page fee?). Specifically, what's usual and customary with regard to searchable bibliographic databases // author abstracts? I am also curious how different online database operators calculate royalties that they pay to journals and other content providers. I'd like to determine if there's a relationship between transaction search prices charged by online database operators and royalties paid to content providers? Thank you for your insights.
