Hello: A report in yesterday's Library Journal Academic Newswire states that the American Law Institute has decided not to act on the latest draft of UCC Article 2B at their upcoming annual meeting. AALL's Bob Oakley is quoted as saying that ALI is unhappy with the draft, and is slowing down the approval process. The report also states that the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws has decided to move forward with the draft as a uniform law apart from the Uniform Commercial Code. The title of this separate uniform law will be the "Uniform Computer Information Transactions Act." Oakley is quoted as saying that states might be more hesistant to adopt this NCCUSL uniform law without the endorsement of the ALI.
