"User names" are invented by each user. These are not their "legal" names, unless the user wishes to make it so. Usage statistics (based on IP addresses) supplied to us by the providers of online access allow us to assess the utility of serials (and other online content) acquisitions over time, and to redirect funds if usage indicates that document delivery services would be more cost-effective than maintenance of a particular subscription. As the cost of scholarly scientific and medical journals continues to rise, this is unavoidable.
