Background: I work in a large academic health sciences library. We have an Associate Director for Assessment and Planning. This position is responsible for plnning what stats to keep, how to keep them, and how to do this on the library's network so that everybody has only one place that stats have to be entered and only one place to check for stats on any particular area. This person works with the Associate Director for Computer Services to ensure that the appropriate stats for journal usage (print or electronic) are kept by the library's online systems. Jack T.
