Can anyone help me with these two questions? 1. Are there figures for the estimated cost of a library at a research institution for each undergraduate per year? So John Doe attends Stanford or the U. of Illinois. He is a sophomore. What is the allocated cost of providing library services to him? 2. I am puzzling over the value of digitization projects. One assumption is that when books (and let's restrict this question to books for now) are digitized and made full-text-searchable, the usage of these books rises. That makes sense to me, but does anyone know by how much? There are a number of variables to control for in this question, but I imagine members of the library community have been studying this carefully. Thank you. Joe Joseph J.
