Medknow Publications Preserves with the CLOCKSS Archive August 31 2011 The CLOCKSS Archives is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Medknow Publications to preserve their e-journals in CLOCKSS's geographically and geopolitically distributed network of redundant archive nodes, located at 12 major research libraries around the world. By archiving with CLOCKSS, Medknow Publications has committed to the preservation of their e-journals. This action provides for content to be freely available to everyone after a "trigger event" and ensures an author's work will be maximally accessible and useful over time. "As a publisher committed to have barrier free access to information, Medknow is pleased to be a part of the CLOCKSS Archive. With long term availability of our content we are ensuring that we break even the time-barrier for access to our content. This is particularly useful for the smaller journals and journals from the developing countries which usually face continuity problem due to lack of finances. Medknow together with the CLOCKSS Archive will ensure that what is published today is available for the scholars of tomorrow," said Dr Sahu, CEO of Medknow. CLOCKSS Executive Director Randy S. Kiefer adds, "The CLOCKSS Archive welcomes Medknow Publications's e-journals into the community's archive. As a large open-access publisher, Medknow has ensured that their publications will be available to everyone now and for years to come. The variety and the global nature of Medknow's journals are very important additions to the preservation of worldwide academic content. The CLOCKSS Archive has achieved a rare consensus among libraries and publishers, and we are grateful, as Medknow Publications joins the CLOCKSS Archive, for its generous willingness to preserve its e-journals in a way that secures them for the long-term good of scholars worldwide."
