Please see the November MLA News article here: http://www.mlanet.org/resources/publish/sc_2010_survey_results.html written by Barbara Epstein, AHIP, Member, Ad Hoc Committee for Advocating Scholarly Communications, which summarizes the results of the survey done last spring/summer to assess librarians; views of the impact of Open Access/Public Access initiatives on collection decisions. The results show that it is difficult to determine to what extent open or public access influences librarians' collection decisions. The article concludes with: "The survey makes it clear that open access publishing is of great importance to the library community and warrants continued monitoring and educational activities." The full article provides further detail on the results. Karen Albert, MLS, AHIP Library Director Paul J.
