The London Evening Standard reports on three rumours that are doing the rounds: "Reed Elsevier was still one of the hottest topics on the Square Mile grapevine - finding itself the subject of three rumours. The New Scientist and Estates Gazette publisher was variously muttered to be at the end of a bid from Wolters Kluwer, mulling an offer itself for its Dutch rival or - a bit more mundanely - weighing up a disposal. "Its shares perked up... Reed is larger than Wolters - hence the flipping round of the yarn to make the rumoured prey the predator - and the two have previously held merger talks." http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-business/article-23887532-punters-go-wild-over-kesa-and-talk-of-stateside-suitor.do David
