Post on making open access work

I just posted a piece at the Scholarly Kitchen, the title of

As I noted in the post, my approach will please no one.  What I 
am attempting to do is move the debate beyond the rigid 
ideologies of people on both sides.  (It's a great luxury, is it 
not? to think a problem has only two sides.)  To judge from the 
comments thus far, I have not been successful.
