Not sure if this made it to the list already: http://www.personalizemedia.com/garys-social-media-count/ This is a tool for determining how much activity is taking place on the Web in real time. If you are impressed with numbers and numbers on top of numbers, this tool will knock your socks off. (Thanks to Kent Anderson of the Scholarly Kitchen for bringing this to my attention.) This tool made me ponder how to reconcile the real-time Web with the desire for fixed and authoritative (and preserved) content for scholarly communications. Joe Esposito
