RE: 12 SAGE journals migrating to an e-only format

I had thought that the announced discounts for e-only pricing
were a bit fishy. Like a big box store going out of business,
huge discounts applied, but prices get inflated artificially in
order to apply discounts which brings the product back to its
original list price without discount. The Sage announcement
neatly avoided mentioning anything about price increase, only
their decrease, which as Bernd-Christoph Kaemper points out can
easily result in an overall price increase!

Subject: Re: 12 SAGE journals migrating to an e-only format

We want to help you stay ahead of the curve by providing online
access to your users along with these additional benefits:

*A significant savings for your library - the E-access option
represents a significant discount off both the Combined (Print &
E-access) and Print-only rates

Congratulations to SAGE for the most cynic statement yet released
in response to the ICOLC statement on the economic crisis.

Price increase for all titles mentioned below for 2010 is +15% if
you compare like and like (e-only), and still +4%, if you compare
combined price 2009 with with e-only 2010. For a title by title
comparison see below.
