****Apologies for Cross Posting**** Royal Society Publishing saw the launch of its new online journal delivery platform hosted by HighWire Press and a new domain http://royalsocietypublishing.org, replacing the site on MetaPress in February 2009. We automatically activated accounts but were wondering whether Libraries would find it useful if we set up an instructional video for students/researchers that would help them more easily navigate around the site. The aim is to assist Librarians and end users (perhaps with recorded actions and commentary) with a permanently available guide to our feature-rich site. If you think this would be useful or have any other ideas about making Highwire easier to use for you and your end users please let me know. Highest ever Impact Factors achieved by Royal Society journals We are pleased to announce increases in Impact Factor for every Royal Society journal, following the publication of the 2008 Journal Citation Reports <http://science.thomsonreuters.com/training/jcr/> on 19 June 2009. These latest Impact Factors <http://thomsonreuters.com/products_services/science/free/essays/impact_factor/> represent the highest figures ever achieved by our journals and are the result of continuously tightening editorial standards against a background of strong increases in submissions year on year. Proceedings A <http://rspa.royalsocietypublishing.org/site/misc/metrics.xhtml> has increased to 1.705 (from 1.523) and is now ranked 13th in Multidisciplinary Sciences. Proceedings B <http://rspb.royalsocietypublishing.org/site/misc/metrics.xhtml> has increased to 4.248 (from 4.112) and is now ranked 8th in Biology. Philosophical Transactions A <http://rsta.royalsocietypublishing.org/site/misc/metrics.xhtml> has increased to 2.282 (from 1.52) and is now ranked 9th in Multidisciplinary Sciences. Philosophical Transactions B <http://rstb.royalsocietypublishing.org/site/misc/metrics.xhtml> has increased to 5.556 (from 5.529) and is now ranked 5th in Biology. Biology Letters <http://rsbl.royalsocietypublishing.org/site/misc/metrics.xhtml> has increased to 3.00 (from 2.716) and is now ranked 15th in Biology. Interface <http://rsif.royalsocietypublishing.org/site/misc/metrics.xhtml> has increased to 3.621 (from 3.088) and is now ranked 6th in Multidisciplinary Sciences. Notes and Records <http://rsnr.royalsocietypublishing.org/site/misc/metrics.xhtml> has increased to 0.225 (from 0.089) and is now ranked 33rd in History of Science. Rankings in Eigenfactor<http://www.eigenfactor.org/whyeigenfactor.htm> are also improved. The Eigenfactor is a new metric - now being quoted more and more widely - which works in a similar way to Google's page rank algorithm. According to the Eigenfactor, our journals are now ranked as follows: Proceedings A <http://rspa.royalsocietypublishing.org> is ranked 6th in Multidisciplinary Sciences. Proceedings B <http://rspb.royalsocietypublishing.org> is ranked 3rd in Biology. Philosophical Transactions A <http://rsta.royalsocietypublishing.org> is ranked 5th in Multidisciplinary Sciences. Philosophical Transactions B <http://rstb.royalsocietypublishing.org> is ranked 4th in Biology. Biology Letters <http://rsbl.royalsocietypublishing.org> is ranked 11th in Biology. Interface <http://rsif.royalsocietypublishing.org> is ranked 13th in Multidisciplinary Sciences.
