July 11th, 10:30am - 12pm Where: McCormick Place West W-179 About the program: There's more to large scale digitization than Google. The Open Knowledge Commons (growing out of the Open Content Alliance) offers both an alternative and a complement to the Google Books Library Project. Along with the Internet Archive, the OKC represents the collaborative efforts of cultural, technology, nonprofit, and governmental organizations to build a permanent archive of multilingual digitized text and multimedia content.
